FAQ
Dehydration Treatment Bali — Questions
Why is dehydration so common in Bali?
Bali's tropical climate (30–35°C with high humidity) causes 4× faster fluid loss than temperate climates. Add alcohol, physical activity, air conditioning, and the effects of Bali Belly — and dehydration can become severe very quickly, even for healthy travellers.
Why can't I just drink more water?
When dehydration is severe or caused by vomiting and diarrhea, your gut cannot absorb oral fluids fast enough to compensate — and you often can't keep them down. IV rehydration bypasses the digestive system entirely, delivering fluids, electrolytes and medication directly into your bloodstream within 5 minutes.
How quickly will I feel better after IV rehydration?
Most BGC patients report significant improvement within 45–90 minutes of starting IV treatment. Symptoms like dizziness, headache, nausea and muscle cramps typically resolve during or shortly after the drip. Severe cases may require a follow-up session.
Is the treatment covered by travel insurance?
Most international travel insurance policies cover medical treatment abroad including IV rehydration therapy prescribed by a licensed physician. BGC provides ICD-10 coded medical records for international insurance claims. Check your specific policy for claim requirements.
